Queen Elizabeth National Park is the most popular savanna park in Uganda, spanning the districts of Kasese, Kamwenge, Rubirizi, and Rukungiri. QENP is the best place to see lions including the Tree Climbing lions making it the perfect destination for a Uganda Wildlife Safari. It prides itself on a great diversity of habitats that include: lakes, savannah grasslands, forests and wetlands that serve as home to the biggest variety of large mammals in the country.

Location: Queen Elizabeth National Park is located in western Uganda, covering an area of approximately 1,978 square kilometers. It is situated between Lake Edward and Lake George and is bordered by the Rwenzori Mountains.

Wildlife: The park is home to a wide variety of wildlife, including elephants, lions, leopards, buffalos, hippos, crocodiles, and several antelope species such as Uganda kob and topi. It is also known for its population of tree-climbing lions in the Ishasha sector. Moreover, the park is a haven for bird watchers, with over 600 bird species recorded.

Kazinga Channel: The Kazinga Channel is a popular highlight of Queen Elizabeth National Park. It is a 32-kilometer long natural channel that connects Lake Edward and Lake George. Visitors can take boat safaris along the channel, providing an opportunity to see hippos, crocodiles, waterbirds, and other wildlife.

Kyambura Gorge: The Kyambura Gorge, also known as the "Valley of Apes," is a deep gorge within the park. It is home to a habituated chimpanzee community, and visitors can engage in chimpanzee trekking to observe these fascinating primates in their natural habitat.

Ishasha Sector: The Ishasha sector, located in the southern part of the park, is famous for its tree-climbing lions. These unique lions are often spotted resting on tree branches, offering an incredible sight for visitors.

Crater Lakes: Queen Elizabeth National Park features numerous volcanic crater lakes that add to its scenic beauty. These lakes provide a habitat for various bird species and offer opportunities for nature walks and sightseeing.

Mweya Peninsula: The Mweya Peninsula is a picturesque area in the park that offers panoramic views of the surrounding landscapes, including the Kazinga Channel and the Rwenzori Mountains. It is home to luxury lodges and serves as a hub for various activities in the park.

Conservation Efforts: Queen Elizabeth National Park is committed to conservation and sustainable tourism. Efforts are made to protect the park's ecosystems, wildlife, and cultural heritage, while also supporting local communities through tourism initiatives.

Accommodation: There are several accommodation options available within and around the park, ranging from luxury lodges to budget-friendly campsites. The Mweya area and Ishasha sector have a range of lodging facilities to cater to different visitor preferences.
